Seamless finishes ready for your new walls to be decorated
Tape and jointing offers an alternative to skim coating your plasterboard. It involves bridging the gaps between sheets of plasterboard using jointing tape to cover and reinforce the seams. Layers of jointing compound are then applied and blended to make the joints flush – a process known as feathering.
Taping and jointing is less time-consuming than skim coating entire walls, so is a good option when projects are time-sensitive.
In countries like the US and Australia, tape and jointing is the standard method, but in the UK, many plasterers still use skimming.
There are advantages and disadvantages to both, so we’ll always recommend the method that is best suited to your needs.
